ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- At the risk of sounding like your spouse, consider this your reminder to make your Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HRVS) reservations.

The two-week long event, a celebration of the bounty of the Hudson Valley, starts Monday, Oct. 30 and goes until Sunday, Nov. 12 and spots fill up fast.

More than 200 restaurants throughout Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan participate, allowing chefs to flaunt their best fare. Special three-course menus are $22.95 for lunch and $32.95 for dinner and often focus on seasonal ingredients.

New this year: Spotlighting the color purple, i.e. purple produce such as cauliflower, Japanese eggplant, potatoes, beets and Brussels sprouts.

Also new: A bunch of Rockland County restaurants, among them 76 House in Tappan, 8 North Broadway in Nyack, AquaTerra Grille in Pearl River, Communal Kitchen in Nyack, Mount Ivy Cafe in Pomona, UNoodles Snack Bar in Haverstraw, Pier 701 Restaurant & Bar in Piermont and Oscar's Restaurant in Blauvelt.
